Alan Tavener's 60th birthday surprise

To Glasgow 's St Andrew's in the Square by train for the secret ALX party. The magnificent setting with the added glamour of all the birthday plans by Rebecca Tavener. The 'surprise' welcome, rehearsed and conducted by Rebecca, was loud and heartfelt. Speeches before the toast was mainly Rebecca, a lovely summary of Alan's many activities and achievements. After the cutting of the cake, see additional photo, the entertainment was varied, professional, mainly musical and great fun. Having enjoyed the meal, I was glad to head for home, but it was good to see both Alan and Rebecca dancing enthusiastically.
Everyone got a fridge magnet with Alan playing the organ.
