Tree Pruning

It hasn't been a day to spend outside, as it's been raining off and on since I woke up.  I know we can use the rain to water all of the new greenery, so I'm trying to enjoy it.  The squirrels are active in the maple tree, biting off clumps of new leaves and devouring the seeds (whirligigs as I used to call them in my youth), so I decided I would capture one in action for my blip.  Every spring I wonder how the tree can survive since the squirrels bite off so much of the early growth, but I suppose it's nature's way of pruning.
