Bygdøy

Today I rented a bicycle to explore Oslo some more. After breakfast (fish, cereal, eggs, bread and jam, coffee and juice) I headed up to the Vigeland sculpture park where there are hundreds of human sculptures and it is all very interesting. Next was Bygdøy, the island in the fjord that was connected artificially a few years ago. It is very countryside-y and doesn't feel like you are still in Oslo at all. I cycled all around to the beaches and through the forests, but it was freezing cold and I was glad for the warmth of the Viking museum. I also visited the Norwegian folk museum, which has lots of old buildings transplanted to Oslo for preservation!

I ate out tonight in a local restaurant where they didn't speak English. I ordered the special and the cheapest drink (or so I thought) - a pepsi. The special was pork in a cheesey sauce with chips and salad and it was so good not to be eating a sandwich! However, my pepsi cost £4.50...
