Cousin & Priest~Monk
This morning my friend and I went to his village and then continued towards Kolymbari Monastery where I once pictured my 2 sons on the monastery's terrace towards the ocean... a wonderful spot that is.
Rather than having my friend positioned in the picture like my Benjamin then, I was positioned in a pose like his.. oh well sometimes I'm in front of the camera overhere (see extra).
And then we got back onto the innercourt of the monastery where a monk/priest approached my friend and greeted him with warm words.... he'd recognized his 2nd cousin in him and -after the exchange of warm welcome etc. he invited us into the monastery's salon, where bishops and other authorities are welcomed at other times! I felt it was as if we were on audience with a high priest. So generous, so nice! And we shared at the least half an hour together there with my friend's cousin/priest/monk over a Cretan limoncello and a cookie (koulouri) and stories! Lots of stories!
And when the priest thought it time for us to go he simply played he'd almost fallen asleep as he as monk in this week after Easter must raise very early from bed for sure (5 o' clock or earlier)... so theatre or real; his sleepy posure told us: Time to say goodbye and go ~ what a treasure this visit of ours became!!
Have a good weekend you all!
