Volutelli Buxi
Dutchoak is quite into boxwood hedges. Boxwood hedges are a way to force order in a garden by delineating the "what-should-grow-where" order. They frame in what is beautiful and the pattern they form is a beauty in itself. Boxwood is green in winter and requires nuclear force to kill it.
Over the years, Dutchoak planted around 300 meters (might be 500 meters, never really counted) of hedges, until the always wise and practical mrs. Dutchoak stopped him and told him to switch to maintance mode (he might do so, really, probably to some extend).
Lately, most of the hedges are being ravaged by the Volutelli Buxi, a mildew and a blight that has crossed the North Sea lately ((It's the EU, of course...) Lots of Bouille Bordelaise (chalk and copper sulfide) have stopped it in its tracks, but Dutchoak daily prowls his hedges to check for more damage...
When you turn a dead leaf on its bak, you should see the bleak orange/rose spores. They have a lifespan of three years...
