The Double Helix Sculpture

In town at lunch time enjoying the hot summer weather (over 30C).

A few days ago I blipped a sculpture at the lower end of the main shopping street, commemorating the shoe manufacturing industry.

At the top end of Abington Street is this magnificent sculpture commemorating Northampton's Francis Crick, one of two scientists who discovered the double helix structure of DNA in 1953. Designed by Lucy Glendinning, it stands over 8 metres high and was installed in 2006.

Once again, there's a figure in the frame noticing me and my camera and thinking I'm focussing on him. There's always one!
