A museum for play

This is the main staircase into the modern part of the Hermitage which is in the General Staff Building. It is wonderful. These children loved it. An absolutely artfully fantastic day!


On visiting The Hermitage, St Petersburg.

Beauty within beauty
As it surrounded and enfolded.

The gold and the gold on the gold
And the colour and the white.
Look at the parquet unprotected and intricate,
the ceilings in their detailed patterned symbolism
and then the other art
On the walls.
Just stand and stare.

While the children play,the sun shines
And the world embroils itself...
