Two little black snouts!

We are thrilled to have these two little visitors back in the garden.  They were waiting on the kitchen steps just after 10:00pm, as they had been the night before and the night before we went away for a couple of nights.  I've put some cat food down for them and for the last two mornings the dish has been licked clean! 

When Holly dog was alive and went out into the garden before bed, we used to hear this little high, squeaky, somewhat quizzical bark which came to be known as her "hedgehog bark".  When we went out to investigate, she would be standing over them, barking and not understanding why they weren't running away from her - they just curled up into little balls waiting for the noise to stop!
