A visit to Edinburgh

My Third Wednesday girls visited Edinburgh today, 26 of us!!!  Edinburgh was freezing when we arrived, but we soon heated up and the sun came out in the afternoon. 

We walked to Dynamic Earth, and had a snack there before walking in Holyrood Park along to a pathway which led us to the Innocent Railway which is now a cycle and walking path.  We then walked to the village of Duddingston, and passed the Sheep Heid Inn.  We had intended to have a meal there, but when the girls enquired initially they were not helpful, so we decided just to have our sandwiches at Duddingston Loch.   It was lovely there in the sunshine, with the swans, geese and ducks, who milled around us wanting some of our food.

We then walked back to Dynamic Earth and from there back up the Royal Mile and back to the bus station, pausing for an hour or so for a glass of wine, as is our wont.

Had a lovely day out in great company.   Roll on the next walk!
