Wet, wet, wet
It poured all night, and was still pouring at 4.45am when the alarm went off to get up and go to milk. All I wanted to do was roll over, and go back to sleep.
It absolutely teemed down while milking, so much so that we couldn't hear the radio in the shed. Then we had thunder and lightning, thankfully this morning the power didn't go off.
Feeding out this morning was horrendous - it was still raining heavily, but we had no choice, the cows needed feeding and no one else was going to do it! So we all got in our wet weather gear and headed off.
This picture shows Farmerboy loading up the feed out wagon with hay. You can see how much rain we have had from all the water lying on the ground. The creek beside the tractor and wagon had burst its bank, and the water had overflowed into the paddock. We have lakes in some of our paddocks - there is literally water everywhere. And with the water comes the mud, especially where the cows have been walking, and standing. Lots of it - everywhere.
I think we have had our fair share - hopefully it will clear up, so we can start to dry out.
