Green Sleeves
Excited to have photographed a crab spider that I haven't seen before. :) I spotted it between some fresh blackthorn leaves under an oak tree when I was shooting a Nomada bee. It's tiny and has a green head and legs and a cream abdomen with a brown splodge. Diaea dorsata likes woodland, the area around this oak tree is a happy hunting ground for bugs. :)
Today's poem is The Silver Swan. Anon. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poems/detail/50405

It is thought that this was a popular verse of Orlando Gibbons' time and he set it to music, turning it into a madrigal. It's beautiful regardless and could be based on the legend that swans only sing just before they die. There is also speculation that it might be referring to la petite mort.
