Tree Peony

This little Tree Peony  doesn't bloom for long, but it saves up all its loveliness for one quick extra-beautiful blast. It's like those little bananas - they seem to have all the flavour of a large banana jammed into a tiny package, so that they taste extra-banana-ey. 
It was back to work today, so this was taken in our garden when I returned this evening. I was really glad to get back home.  The office sounded like a hospital ward full of chest patients, all coughing and spluttering. C now has the lurgy too.
