DERELICT SUNDAY ON TINY TUESDAY!
We have had a lovely couple of days away from home and decided on the way back that we would call into a specialist nursery, Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, at Whitchurch in Hampshire.
We were very chilled out and Mr. HCB kind of knew where he was going, but got quite annoyed with the lady on Google Maps who kept sending us in the wrong direction and then took us some miles out of our way, this had also happened on our way down, so he was not amused!
We found the place eventually, and were helped by Rachel, who was very knowledgeable. It’s well worth a visit, especially if you want something unusual and you want to speak to staff who “know their stuff”! We bought several plants - but more of those on future Blips.
I rather liked this tree stump with these wrought iron “ferns”. Rachel told us that they had been in their display at the Chelsea Flower Show last year - so they are quite famous already but I thought it looked good enough to be my Derelict Sunday blip on Tiny Tuesday!
The countryside is looking beautiful at the moment, and in the bright sunshine the oil seed rape fields are spectacular - I have put one in as an extra - and we really enjoyed just “pootling” along and taking our time coming home, despite Mrs. GoogleMaps telling us she had found a quicker route that would have taken us via the motorway!
Once we got home, Mr. HCB was off round to the greenhouse to make sure that his precious plants had survived the frost that was promised last night - thankfully they are all doing well, so he is a happy bunny.
We are out this evening to help celebrate a friend’s birthday - a good ending to the Easter break - the cricket season has already started, so as you all know, I will now be relegated to Position Number 3 in Mr. HCB’s life - (1) Cricket (2) Garden (3) Me!

the joy of accomplishing
more than you can imagine -
plant a garden.”
