An Old Soldier and his Red!

Apologies this has been a lazy blip day today....

I had intended to get some pictures of H and C after school at the local farm park, but they were being a bit too tetchy to warrant such a treat! They are both very tired after their first week back at school/pre-school!

The lovely part of the evening was that Hannah's godmother, dear Sophie and her other half, Simon, came over for supper. Any excuse to get the crystal out and sit at the nice table (which is normally covered up by a green with white polka dots table cloth!!!

Everyone has either gone home to gone to bed and I need a blip! I decided the wine glasses were a good subject, so hastily arranged them with my favourite memento from my 18 years Army service - my leaving gift from the Officers of 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, with whom I served with from 1997 to 2000 - second best days of my Army career (but that is a whole other story!!). I love this guy. he is a copy of the solid silver original of an RHA Officer from the 1880s which now resides in the Mess to this day. (For any aspiring light fingered folks - I am sure there are none of you on blip, he is very much not solid silver!!!)

I also wanted to fiddle around with some flash. I know my camera and flash can combine and do off camera flash, so thought I would give it a go..... so here, I present you with the very hasty result!!!

Have a happy Friday (or what is left of it) night :-)
