Dalveen pass

The A702 is a road of two halves; from the motorway to Edinburgh it is busy and best avoided on the bike but on the Galloway side its a snaky undulating cycling pleasure.

Obviously a bit of inclement weather wasn't going to put me off; having strapped my pair on and zipped up both man suits off I jolly well went.


It was about 43 miles before the family took pity on me and sheltered me from the (occasionally heavy) drizzle and i had pretty much thawed by Edinburgh.

I've gone a bit Cantona with the beard. Apologies.
