Ireland, Day 20 Donaghadee
Back in Northern Ireland. There is an unusual Aires de Services at Donaghadee, with two spaces marked out by the service point. Vans are required to move ff nce serviced. The idea is that the hook-up is for recharging the battery quickly, not for 24 hr attachment. However, overnighting in the car park itself seems to be acceptable and so that is what we did.
Parked by the sea we could see across to Galloway.
A short off-road grassy walk towards the harbour is a popular one with local dog walkers and Nell felt right at home.
The day was sunny and bright and we enjoyed exploring the town and the harbour until the cloud rolled in. It looked inauspicious and we had no raingear with us so we popped into the very dog-friendly Pier 36 and ordered up a Guinness or two, which we then followed with a meal. Whilst we were sat waiting for our food the cloud broke... and deposited a great deal of very large hailstones. We were glad to be inside.
