I'm nearly a swan

I shall be glad when the Book & Arts festival is finished and I can get back to my early morning blips. I really miss them. I went down to the harbour this afternoon to have a break and to see how the family had settled down after the stressfull day earlier in the week. They were all on the river dunking themselves under the water and preening new plumage. The seven cygnets have really started to blossom, just like young teenage girls showing off all their new finery. It's interesting to see how the flight feathers change first and then the body will follow suit. I was sat watching some crows strutting up and down the harbour wall when this young one came up to show her dominance. They are still very feisty but beautiful to watch. I will start to hang around a bit more as they will all start their training flights soon and that is spectacular to watch. Lets hope the weather holds.
