The Printworks

The Printworks is an entertainment venue, located on Withy Grove in Manchester city centre, England. Originally HQ for the Daily Mirror, the location reopened as the home for a variety of clubs and eateries in 2000 [1] and was launched with fireworks and a radio roadshow featuring many local and international acts, headlined by Lionel Richie.

It contains mostly bars and clubs, including a Hard Rock Cafe as well as a leisure centre and a 23-screen Odeon cinema, (formerly the Filmworks), incorporating an IMAX 3D screen. The Printworks was also home to the Hard Rock Casino in Manchester until it closed in 2006.

Until 1986 the Printworks was home to a printing press, owned at the time of its demise by Robert Maxwell. The site stood derelict until 1998, when work commenced on the new venue.

Thanks to Wikipedia for the above.

The "IMAX" sign reminds me this building was once owned by Robert Maxwell as it seems to signify "I" was a pretty important part of Maxwell's life.

Anyway, enough of that - another day in Manchester and a few more shots here, on my blog.
