Cotswolds Day 3 Homeward Bound

Today we headed home after an amazing trip that we managed to pack so much into.
After a delicious breakfast we packed our things into the  car and headed to Bourton on the Water. We started with a stroll around the village, taking pictures of the lovely houses, the little bridges and the many ducks. Chris started to get bored so we headed for the motor museum. I was a bit dubious about what it would be like but I was very pleasantly surprised and I can recommend a visit if you're in the area. The place is packed to the rafters with cars, motorbikes, caravans, signs, cameras etc etc etc. It starts with cars but then it's just generally any memorabilia from the last 100 years.
We had a spot of lunch before heading for Snowshill Manor and Garden, a National Trust property. It was extremely busy here and we were told that there was a 2 hour wait to get into the house but fortunately we were allowed in earlier as it had quietened off. I was a bit disappointed with the place really. The gardens were not as well maintained as other NT places that we've visited and the house was just a little strange inside with a huge collection of odd things that the previous owner had collected over the course of his life.
We then headed to Broadway, a place that I'd visited many times as a child but had not returned to for probably 30 years. The main street had not changed much but there had been a lot of building behind it. Unfortunately we couldn't stay long here but we managed to have a quick browse and a hot chocolate in Leaf and Bean. Hopefully I won't be leaving it another 30 years before a return visit.
The short break was a Christmas present for us both off Dan, our eldest and Dad paid for a second night for a joint birthday present. Thank you both, it was a very enjoyable trip. xx
