An Englishman Abroad

I took lots of better shots , but this one of Big coming down the hill was the most thought provoking  I took today ; I am wondering how it is that we can instantly recognise "our own", we are in a non tourist area but can spot fellow Brits a mile off and it's not that they are wearing union jack shorts or anything that particularly picks them out, so how does one know ?
In Big's case definitely the panama hat ! (unless bandy legs are a British trait ?)
