Riverside Walk

Grey miserable morning, but the afternoon brightened up so we headed off to Cortachy, near Kirriemuir for a gentle stroll along the River South Esk.  This is the view from the bridge looking towards the grounds of Cortachy Castle.

We did trespass a bit and walked up to the castle for a photo (see Extras) via their private gardens, but quickly left and went for the official walk by the river!

The rhododendrons were starting to blossom, with a few early ones out, but the full show will not be for a few weeks yet so must go back to see them.  In spite of being Good Friday, we only saw a few other people on the walk which is just how we like it:-)
