Going up in the world

I met up with both daughters in Glasgow in the early afternoon to view a flat that D#2 was interested in, then we walked Minty and Mabel along the Forth & Clyde Canal walkway. In drizzle.

We passed the now-defunct Temple gasworks which still feature on the Glasgow skyline for miles around, before returning to Lock 27 where there was a boat waiting to pass through.

The Australian gent on board was happy to chat. He told us they (he, wife and small child) had picked up the boat at Maryport in Cumbria, sailed up the west coast and joined the F&C canal at Bowling on the Clyde. After crossing Scotland on the canal, their final destination is going to be Denmark. Quite an adventure!
