Kentucky Horse Park

If the timing is right...I usually force Lisa to take a drive through the Kentucky Horse Park, just north of Lexington. It is a huge equestrian center, with many real horses, and many metal horses.

I'm a real sucker for bronze statues, whether they were modeled after people or animals. Just the whole process of sculpting and the pouring of the hot metal intrigues me. Such an art.

We got home last night at 5:45 p.m., after driving 1,260 miles in two days. As usual, the worst construction area was the 80 miles we have to drive in Michigan.

Tired, and a day behind in Blip...but we'll catch up.

This is a statue of Man O'War, also called "Big Red", considered to be one of the greatest race horses of all time. He sired many racing champions, including Triple Crown winner War Admiral. Man O'War died in 1947.

A horse of legend,
an equine of lore.
More than you wanted to know...
about Man O'War.
