A Bad Mane Day

Some days are more action packed than others and today we had one of those.
We hired a car and took off northwards across the Forth, stopping at Baxter's café near Kelty for an invigorating coffee before travelling onwards via the little rustic cemetery in Cleish wherein lie the remains of my predecessor, to see the house near Kinross, designed by His Lordship while he was in his prime. It was sold over 30 years ago and he hasn't been back since. The kind owner who was in the garden invited us in and HL was able to tell her a bit about the history of the site and the background to its building. The extra image is a  blip of it this morning

Then it was on to Loch Leven and lunch in the restaurant at the water's edge. The loch and island castle were resplendent in the sunshine, but our walk along the path by the water was akin to a survival course in the Arctic, with such a bite to the strong wind that it sent us scurrying back to the warmth of the car.

We do miss our own car, but the upside is that when we get one we appreciate all the more the places 'off piste' that we are able to reach with 4 wheels. It was a great day away from the city and the tourists when we could stop at will and talk to the animals.

This mare in my blip was just saying to me that she found the wind had given her a bad mane day
