Aye aye

A day of jobs in the house including trying to get the rayburn working properly again. As we cannot get engineers here we (that is my husband) have had to learn to service it ourselves and for the most part this is successful after nearly 20 years. Today we have water in the tank again and have had to syphon it off using a home made bit of kit that our good friend made for us.  We still cannot get it to light so the house is cold. Sometimes I would like the idea of central heating, something I have never had in the last 35 yrs .

I took some photos using one of the second hand manual lenses that my husband recently bought. It's an Olympus 55mm f1.2 so when using 1,2 the dof is very small. I tried flowers using it but I didn't like the softness although it gives a great glow to the shots and good bokeh. I think it is a very good lens for portraits as above.
