Thornton Viaduct!
After a morning spent in school, jazzing and sprucing up the classroom with some new displays, it was another afternoon spent in the outdoors - yippee!!
I have cycled under the Thornton Viaduct and had heard you could stroll along it using The Great Northern Railway Trail, so it was exploring time. The trail starts in Queensbury and quickly drops down into the rolling Pennine landscape, on a disused railway track which has been turned into a footpath. It was a lovely walk to Thornton, and back, and I would like to continue on through Hewenden and on to Cullingworth. A trip that would take you across all three famous viaducts.
Doing what you like is freedom. Liking what you do is happiness!
