Monarch of the Glen

Well, Monarch of stag Hill would be more correct. This is the abstract sculpture of a stag at the entrance to Guildford University's Stag Hill Campus. It was created by Allan Sly in 2009.

I find something a little mediaeval about it. It might be the fact it is resting a hoof on the key somewhat reminiscent of religious paintings/stained glass work representing the Paschal Lamb.

I suspect it might be the focus of many a fine nights revelry at Stag Hill!
