Pohutukawa

..are sometimes referred to as New Zealand's Christmas Tree as they are a glorious blaze of vivid red in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Athough this is no doubt a different member of the species I was very surprised to see a number of them in bud and about to burst into flower in April. I love these beautiful flowers.
