Postcard From Portobello

Having a great time in Edinburgh with the family! After all the fun sightseeing and anniversary meal yesterday, we had a day at the sea-side today. I really do like to be beside the sea-side, especially with a bottle of wine. Somebody had to sit and look after the bags while they played in the sand!

In the 15 years we have been coming to Edinburgh we've never visited Portabello. It has 2 miles of lovely sandy beaches. Really soft, clean, dry sand. No pebbles, no dead seaweed (pity about all the paper coffee cups). Another time I will bring a towel and take my shoes off!

It's a VERY long time since I played Shove-Ha'penny Tuppence! Very addictive, they had to drag me away!

So, another nice meal out with drinks at the Espy (Esplanade Bar) this time. We ate outside and enjoyed the view of the sea. 

We said our goodbyes to The Grandchildren, Daughters and The Menfolk and made our way home.
