Happy Crocus
Finally the spring season is here! It was over 65ºF in full sunshine today and will not freeze too much tonight. Tomorrow is to get up to 75ºF.
Whoo-hoo!
I heard that when it was that temperature in London last week people complained about exessive "heat". We are grateful. Getting out the shorts.
The only downside is that this will mark the end of a fabulous maple syrup season. The sap stops running when the nights get too warm.
The only flowers blooming in my garden so far are crocus. The bees were covering the flowers and singing away as I took this blip.
I will surely plant hoards more in the Fall now that I see how much the bees love these early bloomers. I planted an extra 50 last Fall and they have only sprouted leaves so far. These are older crocus bulbs that the squirrels have not found and decided to carry off. .Only honey bees today and no Bumbles yet. I sure hope they made it
Vole season opened yesterday for the cats. They brought two bloodless, fresh kills into the garage. Thankfully, not through the cat flap into the house. They do not eat them... I think there is a foul taste in voles.
There's the Nature report for today... oh yes, and the river has stopped rising. It did not go over the main road this year.
