Stanegate & Grindon Lough near Hadrian's Wall

Given the forecast for the day we couldn't resist a wee jaunt out on our bikes. We took the train to Haltwhistle & then cycled home via the sustrans cycle routes which follow part of the Roman Wall, just over 20 miles in a little over 2 hours. Beautiful bleak scenery to the north & the fertile Tyne Valley to the south. We rewarded ourselves with a lovely cool beer in the beer garden at a local pub! A great day!
