A new day
I thought long and hard about today; it was the only day we could get our UK Board together, but its also a day I've made a habit of not working on - what should have been my mother's birthday has come to be my day of taking stock, of pondering, planning and giving thanks.
But, I also know that I carry Mum with me everyday - and I've never really been a fan of traditions - any day can be Christmas if you choose - every day should be special - and I genuinely give thanks that most of mine are.
So today i compromised, got up early and had a little wander. The sun crests these high peaks that guard this deep valley later than this looks - as I returned to the hotel this magical scene let me know I'd made a good choice. I paused in the crisp cold of this new day, listened for that gentle laugh and smiled.
