Preston Dock

Preston Dock was once Europe's largest single dock basin.
It was opened in 1892 and closed in 1981.  After all the necessary discussions had taken place and funding issues resolved, the area was transformed from a full commercial dock to a mixed pleasure, leisure and domestic housing area,  This took place between 1985 and 2000.
