Blush

Trillium grandiflorum, a North American woodlander which I keep in a shady place here.  Just a few inches high this seemingly delicate beauty is in fact quite a toughie, for the shady place is in a very overgrown and wild part of the garden.  Raised from seed sown a few years ago now, this flower opened pure white but has blushed pink as it ages.  There is a much sought after form that opens pink and also a double flowered form with rather camellia-like flowers.

A hot, summery feel to today, first outing for the shorts!  We've enjoyed a quiet Palm Sunday, a nice family lunch after church .... but it's a pyjama day for the youngsters who seem pretty chilled this holiday so far.
