Acton Bridge
The morning was sorting stuff out at home.
The plan was to unfold our bikes and have a short bike around our area. But a faulty valve and a flat tyre put paid to that.
And so we travelled down to the Weaver for a short walk early afternoon. It was good. Our first swallow of the summer was singing away on a wire next to the Acton Swing Bridge.
Getting to Dutton Locks we watched two narrowboats waiting for the water to rise to let them travel on.
Crossing over to watch them, we noticed a small sign pointing to Acton Bridge, so we followed it. And we were really glad we did. Thoroughbred horses grazing. Lots of ancient pear orchards, all the old trees in flower. And meadows full of celandine and wood anemone. How come we've never walked this route before ? Delightful.
