Snuggles

Most of the times, being a solo parent is fine. There are days that are harder than others, of course, but I'm lucky that I have a good support system, and mostly my awesome mother, to come to the rescue when I need a break or a hand.

Being pregnant while being solo, however, is a tad more complicated. I spent yesterday in labour and delivery, with that they suspect is kidney stones. They sent me home because the stone(s), though I feel some pain, are not visible, and so far not causing too much trouble. But here's the problem: they know, and I know, that I'm likely to need to go back in once the little bugger moves into a tight spot. After all, I went through this when pregnant with Olivier. So I'm hanging out at home with my little guy, controlling the pain, and hoping that if I need to go back in, it will be during daycare hours. Otherwise, the solo parenting gig will get a lot more complicated, especially if it's over night.

(Oli doesn't know or realize all this. His day yesterday was fun because my friend J picked him up from daycare. We had a lovely and long nap this afternoon after spending the night at grandma's.)
