Mambo Jambo

It's the holidays!!!! She woke up about 6 and I said she could watch a movie for a while. I eventually dragged myself out of bed and we were out gardening about 8. We had a bit of a weeding session and she spent quite a long time talking to some worms she gathered. She went inside before too long though and had a play.

We left home shortly after 11 to go to the city. We decided to park outside the centre & walk in, with it being sunshiney and lovely. We were heading to a concert at music centre. It was absolutely fab. A 2man band, who each played a fabulous selection of instruments. All the pieces had a carnival theme, it was great fun. Katie now wants to learn some samba on her clarinet. We then had a workshop with the people who gave the concert. Again, even more fun! Katie was pleased to get exactly the drum she hoped for. Her Monday band teachers played sax for the finale piece of the workshop & katie grinned at them the whole way through.

We walked back to the car and did a spot of shopping including ice lollies! We had a really nice chilled out time when we got home. She spent about an hour in the sunshine with all her craft stuff. When she came in, she worked super hard and super happy on her clarinet. I'm really impressed to see how the work we've done all this time is paying off, in terms of her now understanding better for herself what it is to practise effectively. And we had fun with a couple of new pieces. She moved onto piano too and has a new piece that she is enjoying. I learnt it before Christmas and it took me a little while to learn what she sorted in 15 short minutes.
