Roses for Rose

My blip today is in memory of my childhood and university friend Rosemary Hedger ( Rose Shields ) who died peacefully yesterday. Rose was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour last autumn. We had such fun together at school and later as students at the new University of Stirling in the late 1960s. She showed me how to dressmake, how to ride - she loved horses - and when she passed her driving test, took me on some scary trips around Stirlingshire. Life took us in different directions after university and we lost touch for many years. Thankfully we reconnected some five years ago, and restablished our lifelong friendship. My thoughts are with her family. I feel their loss.
