Primroses

Whilst I walked around the garden today as a break from my dissertation, I found these lovely primroses. As I am currently discussing in my report, petal spots (areas of the petal with different pigmentation to the rest) can allow pollinators to find the floral reward more quickly and accurately. This allows them to visit more flowers in a shorter period of time, benefitting both themselves (more food faster) and the plant (increased seed production).
