Mallorca (Day 0) - Heading To Gatwick

One problem with island hopping from Guernsey to Mallorca (Majorca) for (in my opinion) a well earned holiday, is that to get from one place to the other takes two journeys.
-
The first journey is to get from Guernsey to Gatwick, which takes about an hour ... (or four - if you include all the checking-in, walking through endless airport corridors, being molested by security guards, waiting in anxious anticipation for the cases to arrive on the conveyor belt, etc).
-
It is, of course, then possible to catch a connecting flight to the final destination and complete both journeys in one day, but due to past experience - (IE. being delayed at the first bit and missing the second) - it seemed wiser to take the safe option and do it over two days.
-
Stopping over night at Gatwick airport is not really my idea of a good time, but it did at least give me peace of mind that we would actually be on time to catch our flight to Mallorca (Majorca) - (I get stressed at the best of times and I'm generally way out of my comfort zone when travelling) - and, I'm glad to say, that in this instance, all went swimmingly ... :o)

This blip (backdated by the way) was taken from the plane on the first journey flying over the south coast of England from Guernsey to Gatwick.
