Operation over!! woke up early, put maddie in car half asleep, she soon was completely awake and chatting excitedly asking all about why it was still dark, and what time did the sun wake up, and how come the birds were still asleep. and heaps more talked all the way to the hospital. We were processed quickly and shown to the children's ward Maddie was happy and settled herself in the chair in front of the television. After a while a nurse came around and talked to maddie about the operation and checked her blood pressure and vitals, I suddenly saw her face change and I knew that reality had sunk in as the nurse mention mum can come in when we put you to sleep. As soon as the nurse left Maddie lost it, crying and saying she wanted to go home and that she didn't want the operation any more.

A long wait later a quite a few more tears it was finally Maddies turn, to my surprise she had completely calmed down and was happy to be getting on with it. I was super proud of her she handled the gas with such bravery and it was really smooth.

Recovery was a different story, a first she was ok but soon after eating her lunch she started feeling really sick and started vomiting a reaction to the antiseptic (I always get it too) We ended up having to stay all day as she couldn't keep anything down. Finally at home and she was her usual self just tired after a massive day. Mum and Dad are pretty tired too.

Here they are playing barbies happily together
