Great day out

No, I'm not on another holiday or another cruise. This is Rutland Water, sparkling in delicious sunshine.

It was sort of a cruise though, the Rutland Belle. This was the third part of a fabulous NADFAS day out.

We started off visiting Barnsdale Gardens, the brainchild of Geoff Hamilton, who created 37 individual gardens in this 8 acre plot for the BBC 30 years ago. (Extra photo)

Then we headed to Oakham Castle, a wonderful medieval castle (extra photo too)

And finally our lovely cruise around the perimeter of the reservoir, under blue skies and fluffy clouds.

A truly great day out.
