We drove to Jerome today--in 1876 it was a booming, "billion dollar copper camp"  situated on the side of Cleopatra Hill---a hill so steep that over the years many buildings slid down the side of it and collapsed!  In 1938 the old jail began it's descent and ended up some 200 feet down the hill from where it started. It was known, as so many frontier towns were, as a boozing, brawling, brotheling town--many of the buildings that housed the bars and brothels are still there.  It's hotel is supposedly "one of the most haunted Hotels in America", and has been featured on a couple of ghost hunting shows.............unfortunately I didn't see any ghosts walking about....only this skeleton! :))
