Hanging On To Last Year's Winter Fashions..

Today Johnny had a check up at the vets today and unfortunately it didn't go as well as I hoped it would.

The arthritis that we had hoped we had treated and had under control has flared up again. He is an old man in horse years as a 17-year old thoroughbred and so there is no real treatment other than trying to keep him mobile and comfortable. He is on a course of injections for 4 weeks which hopefully will keep him happy enough to carry on competing through the summer at least, after that we will have to reassess the situation and consider retirement for him.

He enjoys working and hopefully his mental attitude will keep him going and I will be treating him gently from now on and maybe spoiling him with a few more carrots!

It's lovely to see the trees starting to grow new green leaves, although some are still hanging on to last year's winter fashions.
