More Culture

Off to Clitheroe today to have a look around the Castle.  To be honest it's not much of a 'castle' - more of a fortified keep - but the views of Clitheroe and Pendle Hill were worth the climb to the top.
Our 'culture event' didn't confine itself just to the historical details - oh no - there was a solo art exhibition in the Steward's Gallery entitled 'An Artist's Eye on Clitheroe' by Patrick Troughton.........no - not that one, but a  local artist with the same name :-)  
He was appointed artist-in-residence at Canterbury Cathedral in 2001 and moved to Clitheroe in 2015.  Had a long chat with him - he's a very pleasant and interesting person - see my extra.
