Tides Out - Cowbar Beck
A very early walk for us this morning to catch the early morning sun (which I hadn't expected). By the time we got onto Ainthorpe Rigg the dark clouds had settled in, however, just as we got to the gate onto the moor a steam train came along the Esk Valley heading for Middlesbrough. My lens wasn't long enough to capture any details but Ann managed to identify a number with her camera, which according to her friendly expert meant it was `The Royal Scot'. Apparently it had done a week of special events on the NYMR. Time for breakfast and a shower when we got back and I had time to take photos of the birds on the feeders but only got one I really liked, which was of a male siskin and a goldfinch on a feeder. We also saw a Reed Bunting hanging around (and two on the moor this afternoon), but no photo.
The sun came out again and it's been a brilliant afternoon, so we headed for lunch at the Danby cafe and then on to Staithes. It's been a fantatstic day.
p.s. - another one for the farm machinery portfolio - taken this morning.
