Wedge-tailed eagle at Namadgi

Went to Namadgi today to watch this wedge-tailed eagle being banded, measured and weighed. Then this ranger had the joyful task of setting the bird free. This was followed by a true 'bush-walk' - no trails here. We hiked up a heavily wooded hill to find an eagle's nest and take GPS readings. A fabulous afternoon. :)
