The Edge of the Wold

West

The view west from Jack Scout across Morecambe Bay to the sun setting behind Kirkby Moor. The wind turbines on the moor were the first to be built in Cumbria about twenty years ago. They look so insignificant against the vastness of the sun 150 million kilometres away. If only we could devise something as efficient as photosynthesis in capturing the energy of the sun. We are so clever in our technological innovation, yet so primitive compared to the sophisticated engineering of living organisms.

Yesterday, Wifie returned home after more than two weeks away. Bob the cat was so pleased to see her, and even Reg the tortoise put in an appearance. We are back to normal, but life isn't normal yet, and nor will it be for a long time. Thank you again for all the kind, sympathetic comments left on the blips about Nancy. I have one more to do yet, for last Friday, the day of her funeral.
