The Old Forge: ...After (Friday 31st March 2017)

I blipped the pond liner last Friday so here it is filled with rainwater and with stones newly chosen and carefully arranged by R. as Friday is Gardening Day.

It was a particularly busy day as I had someone here treating the loft for woodworm, someone else measuring up the windows that are due for replacement and in the afternoon some friends from up the road were using a jigsaw on the top of my repurposed green waste bin so that the lid will close around the downpipe, and fitting a tap to it (see Extra).

I took two trailers-full of building materials and green waste to the recycling centre at Honeyball and drove on after the first trip to Hills Pools to picnic. The swans weren't there but the Canada geese and tufted ducks were, and I also enjoyed watching a pair of little grebes (aka dabchicks) diving and resurfacing nearby.
