Enjoying the weather
N and I went over to the other end of the farm to check the cows and calves. They are thriving on the grass, the mothers producing more milk and their young are getting stronger by the day. T usually checks them daily and has had to get them in at night a couple of times when it was windy and wet.
We then went with Tess across a couple of fields to inspect the ditches. There is one field that is very wet along the hedge, it may be that the drain under the gate is blocked. T has a digger and has been working hard to unblock many of the ditches on the farm as the heavy clay gets saturated so easily. All the fields have drains under them.
I nearly forgot to add: We watched a hare racing towards us, it nearly collided with Tess and then went on its way. Tess chased it for only a couple of yards and then gave up! I think she knew it was a non-starter.
